Cut Vinyl, Not a Printed Sticker
This is where most Just Married decals fall down. A printed decal is artwork sitting on a clear film, so what actually goes on your glass is a rectangle — and in daylight you see every edge of it, plus the shine off the laminate.
This is cut. The blade traces the outline of each letter and everything else gets weeded away before it ever reaches you. What lands on the window is letters and nothing else. Matte finish, so it photographs without a glare hotspot — which matters more than it sounds like it should, because this decal exists almost entirely to be photographed.
Three Script Styles
Design 1 — Modern Brush. Thick, confident, hand-lettered. Reads clearly from across a parking lot and holds up best in photos taken at a distance.
Design 2 — Classic Script. Rounder and more formal, with the flourish on the J and the M. The traditional wedding look.
Design 3 — Fine Calligraphy. Thin, elegant, fully connected. The most delicate of the three and the closest to real pen calligraphy.
Your names are set in the same script on all three, so the styles stay distinct without the names fighting the banner. Pick the style by number from the reference photo in the gallery.
Your Names, Cut to Fit
Type your names the way you want them cut — "Mario & Emily," "Mario and Emily," "Mario + Emily." You choose the joiner. Up to 24 characters including the spaces.
We set the names, size the line to sit properly under the banner, and email you a digital proof. Nothing gets cut until you say yes. If a name is long or spelled unusually, that proof is where we catch it — not after it's on your car.
It Goes On as One Piece
Cut vinyl lettering is a lot of separate pieces — every letter, every dot on an i. Applying those by hand is how people end up with a crooked, unevenly spaced decal.
You don't have to. We apply transfer tape across the whole design before it ships, so every letter is locked in the correct position relative to every other letter. You peel the backing, hinge the sheet onto the glass with a strip of masking tape, press it down, and pull the tape away. The spacing was set by the machine and it stays that way.
How to Apply
- Pick a day above 50°F and work in the shade. Not in direct sun.
- Clean the glass with glass cleaner, then wipe it again with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. Wax and glass treatments are the usual reason a decal won't stick.
- Position the decal on the glass with the backing still on and run a strip of masking tape down the middle as a hinge.
- Flip one half up, cut the backing away behind it, and lay the vinyl down from the hinge outward, pressing as you go with a credit card or a folded cloth.
- Do the other half the same way, then remove the hinge tape.
- Press the entire design down firmly one more time.
- Peel the transfer tape back slowly at a sharp angle — almost flat against the glass, not straight out. If a letter starts to lift, lay the tape back down, press that spot again, and continue.
- Leave it alone for an hour before washing or driving through rain.
Taking It Off
Warm the vinyl with a hair dryer on low, held a few inches away, until it's warm to the touch. Lift a corner with your fingernail or a plastic card and pull slowly at a shallow angle. Heat is the whole trick — cold vinyl tears into confetti, warm vinyl comes off in strips.
Adhesive left behind wipes away with an adhesive remover like Goo Gone, then a normal glass cleaning. Give yourself ten minutes and it comes off clean.
Glass Only
This one is worth being blunt about: apply it to glass. Rear windows, side glass, storefront windows, mirrors, glass doors.
Do not put it on paint. We don't warrant it on paint, on clear coat, on a wrap, or on a matte-finish body panel. Wedding cars are frequently borrowed, frequently newer than the couple's own car, and a decal on a painted trunk lid is not a risk worth taking for a weekend.
